Key West Birth Week Celebration

by on ‎07-21-2017 02:48 PM

Since my sweet husband and I have the birthdays 5 days apart, we try to celebrate “Birth Week” every year! This year we were lucky enough to take this show on the road: we flew to Key West! The people, the sunshine, the food, and the FUN of the Keys are all now part of our Birth Week memories.

The scenery… So fantastically gorgeous. Here are a few shots that speak for themselves!

The FOOD was amazing. You can’t go wrong in Key West! I love seafood and Key Lime Pie SO MUCH. You can find gluten free EVERYTHING almost EVERYWHERE now – happy girl.

We had so much FUN! We walked around a lot, took in all the sites, and we took an INCREDIBLE mojito class.

If you get to go there, you have to check out Chef Paul Menta’s mojito class at his place: Key West First Legal Rum Distillery. Such a fascinating process (you can tour the place AND sample if you like!) And how cool is his story? From Philly, trained Chef, and fulfilled his dream of owning and operating his own distillery in Key West! He infuses his Chef-training/experience into the distilling process and it’s all very interesting. Its chemistry meets cooking meets passion! Too cool – love to meet folks chasing their dream. He also said it was OK to share his recipe for The Key West First Legal Rum Distillery’s Cuban Mojito!

We adored our time together to celebrate in such a beautiful place. Another wonderful adventure with great memories and LOTS of love. It’s great to be back, I missed all of you!
