Welcome to my first Friday’s Favorites blog!

I was inspired to create this weekly blog by all of you, my wonderful friends, who often ask me about the makeup I use, the clothes I wear, the recipes I love etc.  Each week, I hope you’ll check back in to read about my favorites and I hope to come up with some ways for you to share your favorites with me too.  So, let’s get started!

I make no secret about the fact that when I’m at home, I’m pretty simple in my approach to clothing and makeup. I’ve made some real finds lately from our various fashion collections, and just had to share them with all of you.

These Isaac Mizrahi SOHO pants are my new obsession in comfort. I love the material…not clingy or thin, they have a wonderful softness and drape.  They have a wider elastic waistband that is smooth across the tummy. They run true to size…I wear a Medium.  I also love the wide leg style…it is a fun update for a casual look.  I own them in 2 colors, and my 15 year old daughter recently asked me if I could get her a pair too!  I even think these could be made slightly dressier if I swapped out my favorite sneakers with a pair of cute wedge sandals.  I hope Isaac makes these in more colors…I’d love to see them navy!

If there’s a staple in my wardrobe, it’s the jacket. They’re a dime a dozen, so finding one that fits well, feels comfortable, and can be worn in multiple ways isn’t easy.  That’s why I love this jacket by Clinton Kelly.  Inspired by the iconic denim jean jacket, this version is soft yet structured.  I love it so much, I’ve ordered it in 3 of the 4 colors and I’m seriously tempted to get it in all 4.  It’s a great length (not too short but not too long to look dumpy) and because it’s not denim, you can wear it with jeans and it looks great.  It fits true to size, I’m in the Medium.

I thought I’d like the gray the least, but it’s turned out to be my favorite … just the right color gray and not so heathered that it looks like gym wear.  Trust me, it’s a good one!

My favorite things about spring (outside of the arrival of beautiful flowers) are the days of cool air and bright sun. It sometimes makes it hard to know what to wear, but I’ve found this pullover hoodie from C.Wonder is the perfect spring essential.  It’s a little weightier, but it’s not boxy.  I love it over leggings, yoga pants, jeans….ok, just about anything!  I also think it will be great with shorts in the evening when I’m at the beach this summer.  I’m wearing the Medium and it’s a great fit.

I have to thank Sandra Bennett for turning me on to the FLY London brand. She knew with all of my knee problems that I was always looking for comfortable shoes.  These are just incredible!  Right out of the box, I started wearing them around the house and the cushion underfoot is awesome.  I love the idea of a lace up sandal that isn’t as involved as a gladiator style…and the wedge heel is my favorite.  I know these are a little pricey, but for foot comfort, I’d have to say they’re worth it.

I know we usually think of cashmere scarves for winter, but with all of the bright colors available in this Isaac Mizrahi piece, I love it for spring too. Super cute over that Clinton Kelly jacket, your spring trench coat or a casual cardigan.

The basket weave texture doesn’t add any bulk and the cashmere is soft and light. BTW, I’m a gal who loves a sale, so the clearance price on this makes it even more appealing!

I’m always lugging stuff somewhere. It might be all of my scorekeeper’s equipment for Trevor’s baseball team, my changes of shoes and clothes for work, or a load of laundry to the dry cleaners.  I’m using this LUG puddle jumper bag for it all.  There’s something about the north south shape that allows you to pack more that you think. It’s lightweight, easy to carry over the shoulder, and I love all of the compartments.  For a relatively new brand to QVC, it’s easy to see why their collection is already so popular and highly rated.

So, there are a few of my favorite recent purchases from QVC. If you think they work for you, I hope you’ll give them a try…but really, I’m just hoping you enjoyed the read and look forward to more!  Feel free to give me some ideas for future Friday Favorites too!

xo,

JB
