Somehow I got the artistic child, even though I can barely draw a stick figure. Georgia has this recent found love of art and she's quite good. I think she gets it from my mom who was an amazing artist. So for Georgia’s birthday she wanted an art party. I thought it would be an easy thing to do out on the patio with a dozen kids.  I told them to all dress in their grubbys and get ready to paint! We called it Georgia’s messy art party! We got all the supplies and we were ready, and then the weather went from 70 on Saturday to 40 with a wind chill of 29 on her birthday party Sunday. Ughhh.  

We had to move inside to our extremely small home, but thankfully my in-laws were in town so they helped us cover the floors with plastic and make it a little kids dream downstairs. 

I hit Pinterest and tried to channel my inner Kathy Lindquist (my mom) and I think it turned out pretty great. The girls painted canvases (Georgia’s specialty) and wood pieces she had specifically picked out. We kept the theme going with a make your own messy sundae bar instead of cake and because it was too cold outside to play, we finished the afternoon with a little Disney movie camp out in the basement.  It was a crazy day but so worth it to see the smile on my little girls face.
