Gems, Gems and More GEMS!

I just saw the final selection for Gem Day and WOW, absolutely incredible.  Allison, the gemstone buyer, and her team have put together a selection of gemstone product that rivals the finest jewelry store on Fifth Avenue in NYC.

There are so many new stones offered and fantastic designs that I am not sure where to start.  Gem Day will launch with the fabulous Jane Treacy and her Rock Stars.  The beautiful first ever Tanzanite Tennis Necklace will be launched.  It is an amazing 9.5 cts in the 18 inch and 10.50 cts in the 20 inch.  Our stone partner cut and sorted through over 400,000 carats to come up with the quantity and quality needed for this necklace. The necklace has a special non-flip mechanism manufactured in a trademarked manner to lay flat on the neckline.  Also look for the new green garnet from Brazil and the launch of Huetopia, gemstone jewelry for the gem lover who also loves fashion forward jewelry.  The purple version of bracelet J159993, is my favorite.

Gem day continues with the first ever offer of Persian Turquoise.  This is a true rarity and we were lucky enough to find one small group of stones.  The color is unparalleled and if you are a turquoise lover-please don’t miss this.

I am especially excited about the launch of OstroblueTM Topaz.  This is a color of blue topaz never seen before and can best be described as an intensely blue color only cut by master cutters for pristine brilliance and exceptional luster.  After the passing of Max Ostro, the owner of Ostro Minerals in 2011, his son Maurice, took over the family business and discovered a treasure trove of exquisite blue topaz that Max has been quietly collection over the decades.  Max decided to share the gemstones and is launching the OstroblueTM Collection named after his family.

Please don’t miss the two hour Garnet Jewelry show at 4:00PM featuring colors of Garnet.  Yours truly will be on air with Nancy to bring you limited edition garnets that are true rarities and the gem collections dreams.  During the Tucson gem show in February, we discovered three garnets that had never before been presented.  Many times you hear about new gemstones found at a show and they are offered immediately after the show.  That is really not how it works.  Once we discovered these stones in February, we partnered with the gem cutter to sort through the only parcels available of these stones.  Once we knew the quantity and quality of what was truly available, we designed pieces of jewelry especially to showcase the richness and specialness of each gemstone.  Of course, then the rings needed to be manufactured.  There are always challenges during this process because during the manufacturing process stones may be chipped or loss.  You really don’t know the true number you will have until they are complete.  Anyway, that was long winded, but wanted you to know how special these really are.  Please watch for the Malaya garnet, a fabulous peachy/rosy color, the Mali Honey or Limon garnets, and the absolutely incredible color change garnet from Madagascar.

I have read every one of your comments to my last three blogs and promise to answer them all in my next post.
