I don’t know about you, but when I’m having a bad hair day, it’s all I can think about! I’ve had my hair cut or colored by some of the best, but that doesn’t always translate into a consistent string of good hair days.  When I’m left to my own devices (or hair tools), these are the products and things I do to help keep my hair looking its very best.

Yep, I’m a WEN girl.

I’ve used Chaz Dean’s cleansing conditioner regularly for over 7 years.  My favorite formula is the kid’s Watermelon. I call it WEN sensitive, it’s not solely just for kids.  It’s rice based, has no menthol, and in my opinion, seems to froth up a bit more than some of the others.  It makes cleansing my hair easier and rinsing my hair easier too (plus the fact that is smells like my favorite childhood watermelon rancher candy is a real plus too!)  The fragrance doesn’t linger in my hair, and my hair shines, has bounce and feels great.  The gallons are still available through the end of the month…but since I can’t take my gallon with me when I travel, I rely on the travel packs

They don’t come in the kids formula, so I use the more treatment based 613 when I’m on the road.

While I think good products are important for good hair results….a total game changer for me was investing in a good hair dryer.

Think about it…you go to the salon, get a great cut, bring home all the styling products your stylist used on your hair…but you just can’t make your hair look as good as it did in the salon.  Sure, your hairdresser is missing..but do you know what’s really missing…you’re not using a professional hair dryer, are you?  A cheap hair dryer is going to give you cheap hair results…it will frizz, flatten and scorch your hair.  T3 has been a leader in the luxury hair dryer market for a long time…I couldn’t justify the price either…until I tried it.  There is such a difference in the end result of my hair…and it takes less time too.  It’s also really lightweight, so it’s easy to handle if you’re older or have long hair that takes more time.  I swear by my T3 so much, that I bought the smaller size for travel so I won't ever be without it.  Even a 5 star hotel doesn’t stock a good in- room dryer.  T3 gets 5 stars in my book every day.  Although it's sold out right now here at QVC, keep an eye out for it to return.  In the meantime, I also have used and really like our Drybar Buttercup Hairdryer.

I never thought I’d need or want a hair tool like the Perfecter. But it is just great for my hair.  It helps me add volume at the crown, create fullness where my hair is heavy and flattens, and it helps flick out the little pieces along the edges.  I really like it for “second day” hair…days where I don’t really need to wash my hair, but need to do something to make the bed head look better!

Once my hair is dry, I use Calista’s Embellish to define and style my hair. It really is the product that turns a hair cut into a hair style.  The littlest bit goes a long way.  I need very little to run through my hair to create that piecey look…it also adds great volume to my hair if I’m trying to dress it up a little.  I think this product is really best for short to medium length hair.

I fell in love with Alterna products before they ever appeared on QVC…if you’re a traditional shampoo person, I highly recommend their Caviar Shampoo and Caviar Conditioner. My absolute favorite product is their Working Hair Spray

The best, the best, THE BEST!!!  It’s offers flexible hold, doesn’t feel sticky or hard on the hair, doesn’t diminish shine or flake…it’s just awesome.  I’m picky about hair spray….because my hair is so heavy, I can’t afford to use something that will collapse my style.  It’s just a great product. Period.

So, there’s my list of great hair day products. Whether I’m spending the day at home or on the air, I’ve really come to rely on these products to make my hair look good with very little effort.  It’s summer, after all, and by keeping my hair and makeup routine simple I look and feel finished so I can enjoy all the things that summer brings.  There are too many things I’d rather do than worry about my hair!  Let me know if you give any of them a try!
