First Family Visit to the US

This past week was extra special, because our daughter-in-law's family came to visit from London for a week and stayed with us!  The only time we've ever spent time with Alice's parents was the weekend of Eric and Alice's wedding in April of last year, and that was in London.

Alice's Mum, Lisa, was experiencing her very first visit to the United States!  Alice's Dad, Paul, was visiting the U.S. for the second time, but his first time was 20 years ago. Her brother, David, 20, has been here a few times and loves it!

One of the very first things we did was take them to meet Elizabeth's horse, Shakira.  They loved it and of course Shakira loved the attention - and the treats.

Next, I took them to QVC to take the hour-long tour. They thought it was so interesting, especially since they have watched QVC-UK for several years.

Alice took her Mum out to brunch one morning, which was extra special for them, since they live across the ocean from one another. It's so hard for Lisa to live so far away from her daughter. I'm so blessed that Eric & Alice live fairly close to us!

Another day, we went to visit the PA State Capital in Harrisburg.  Even though her family is British, they are fascinated by American history. Later that evening, we took them to see Longwood Gardens in the West Chester area.

We did allow them a bit of downtime, but we had such a wonderful time just getting to know each other better and really feel like family that the conversation flowed nonstop, albeit with two different accents.

Good day, Old Chap!!!
