Hi ladies,

How are you? I've been having a wonderful September and enjoying all the activities and fun that has come with it.  Life has settled down from a very busy summer and turned into slower weekends filled with fall fashion, fall food, and fall decorating. Thought I would fill you in on a few things that have been going on and would love to hear about what you have been up to.

Let's see where I left off.  I think Labor day weekend will be a god place to pick up the story of Amy Stran's life, lol. The Stran clan as I like to say was all suppose to head home to mom and dad's for a good ole MD crab feast on the Saturday of that weekend. Unfortunately we got a phone call on Thursday before the weekend that my dad was in the hospital.  I know it stops your heart just a second when you hear it, the same thing happened to me.  Let me say he is ok!  It was a case of a bad gallbladder. Without being to technical and gross when your gallbladder is infected it lowers your white blood cells, this caused my dad to pass out and when he passed out he was home alone as he is retired and mom was at work.  He woke up to a sore foot, incredible stomach pain, and having no clue what had just happened, scary! He was able to crawl to a phone and called both 911 and my mom.  Long story short Labor Day weekend we were all home together but in and out of the hospital visiting dad, not eating crabs.  I'm just glad the problem was the gallbladder as my dad isn't the healthiest of guys so scary thoughts raced through my mine.  He is all healed now and I'll see everyone again in few weeks.  In fact when I go home next it will be to see Wicked with the sisters, mom, and my niece Abby.  Really looking forward to that!

I also have few other adventures planned.  I'm headed to NYC for the day with Steve to see his sister and her husband, Dennis and Kathy.  Yuu know we lived in NYC for years so anytime we go back up it's like returning home.  Not sure what exactly we will be doing while there.  We have some usual stopping grounds to visit.  I like to go to Zara as I find the NYC ones are the best.  Steve is more the eater and drinker and less the shopper so we will also hit up some of his favorite establishments or should I say watering holes.  All I know is that as long as I get to go and get my favorite cookies ever while there, I come home happy.

After NY I head to LA in October.  The Inspired Style team is headed there for more trend spotting and girl talk segments for the show.  I again get to hang out with some of the coolest fashion bloggers and soak up the hottest trends in another one of my favorite cities.  I too am on the hunt for a boutique store I found last time I was there that had the most comfortable tshirts.  I only bought one but now live in it so hoping to get a few more while there.  Also would really like to meet up with my friend Jasika and her partner Claire while out there as they just moved there from Canada.  All in all looking forward to the trip!

Steve and I are still decorating the house.  In fact we were the first house to out pumpkins out front. Sure I might have rushed but I adore this time of year and since I never really had a porch to put pumpkins on before I was over excited.  Now let's just hope they last another two months, lol. I'll show you pics of the front and the foyer as that really are the only two spaces complete.

Trying to think what else has been going on. Inspired Style is my joy and just love hanging out with you that night.  Hope you have been enjoying the show. I know it’s late for some of you so don't forget you  can always shop the show by searching Inspired Style on qvc.com.  Plus if you miss my show, Mondays QCheck that I host is all style too.   Oh, and just so you know this holiday season I'll start seeing you for Late Night Gifts on a regular basis with my good friend and fellow host, Jonathan Redford.

I think that just leaves us with random thoughts from Amy.  So here goes.  As I type this right now I'm listening intently for the doorbell as I'm expecting two QVC and one JCREW delivery.  From JCREW a pair of brown riding boots as last year I decided it was time to get new ones when my feet were absolutely frigid some days in my old non leather very cute but very worn out boots.  I'll let you know if I like the new ones.  From QVC I'm waiting on Bethlehem Lights grapevine pumpkins that look exactly like the Pottery Barn ones but without the price.  Plus these are battery operated and have a timer, love that! But what I'm most excited over is I went ahead and splurged and am waiting for the Dyson animal cordless vac, thank you EZ pay! I've used it twice on air and after that second time I had to have it and I don't think I've ever been so excited about a cleaning product before but my goodness excited I am! I too will let you know how those items work out for me too, lol.

Bought a new Joan Rivers necklace, a new pair of shooties, and a great peplum dress this month.  Discovered the wonders of hot fresh apple cider donuts.  Hung out with our friends two month old and didn't want to give him back.  Oh we bought a new car and we already scratched it, such is my life.  Made a new recipe that is so yummy with chicken and wine.  Carrying a new bmak for the fall, I know not a Dooney, it's a shocker but this BMak is my new favorite love.  Haven't been to the gym on a regular basis since Bermuda and feeling slightly guilty but also loving the extra time it gives me.  Oh, and to update you on the hair still growing that out and hoping that in another month or two the bangs will be completely grown out and then I can start experimenting with different styles.  Hang in there as I feel like it is a little dull at the moment and not inspiring anyone's style.  Oh, and one more thing, how cute is Gabrielle right now?  Loving her stylish maternity outfits! Oh, and one more thing, I think I've been watching more movies just to have an excuse to use my popcorn maker. Oh, and seriously loving the song Wanted, it is on constant play in our household while I'm making dinner or cleaning.

Alright my girls this concludes the update on my life for these past few weeks.  I'll have more stories to share when I get back from my travels.  Thanks for being such great gals and being so fun to hang out with.  I'll see you soon.

Much love,

Amy
