Don't Forget Food for the Reindeer!

Hi, everyone!

Everyone knows you’re supposed to leave cookies out on Christmas Eve. In fact, you may have a signature cookie recipe just for Santa…I know we always bake him Snowball Cookies. But what about Santa’s reindeer? They’ve got a BIG night ahead of them and I think a snack is in order.

Reindeer Food

Here’s what’s in the bag:

    • 1 cup rolled oats

    • 1/4 cup colorful sprinkles in holiday colors

    • 1/4 cup colored sugar sprinkles

    • 1/4 cup tiny colorful holiday candies

And I used the following craft supplies:

    • 1 yard ribbon

    • A few cellophane bags

    • Card stock to print or write poem

Now, I can’t take credit for the poem:

Sprinkle on your lawn at night,

The moon will make it sparkle bright,

As Santa’s reindeer fly and roam,

This will guide them to your home.

I found that on Pinterest and loved it. But the instructions are clear: sprinkle the food on the lawn, the reindeer will see the glitter from the sky, and they'll bring Santa to your house. If you and the kids are making this together today, you might not need to make do the bag or tag. But, if you're giving Christmas Eve gifts to the kids in your family or you're helping with next year's bake sale, go for the pretty presentation.

Have a very Merry Christmas, everyone. Don't stay up too late!

XO,
—Jill
