Craving Fashion with QVC & Isaac Mizrahi Live!

Does the new season have you craving fashion? Either which way you slice it or dice it, patterns and trends play a unified roll across the board for desserts, fashion, interior design, and so much more! When I took a peek into QVC’s exclusive Isaac Mizrahi Live! spring clothing line, it screamed dessert to me. All I could think about was how a pink ribbon on a sweater reminded me of a trending cake design or how a poofy skirt reminded me of fluffy cotton candy from the state fair. My mind was filled to the brim with endless ideas, so I met with fashion stylist Tracy Mitchell of Good Day Howard, and we collaborated on styling and pairing outfits with desserts. It was so much fun to combine my love of dessert with great pieces of fashion! Today, I am delighted to share several of my favorite inspired looks that were paired with something sweet.

P.S. Stay tuned! We will be posting a video from this shoot on Best Friends For Frosting’s YouTube Channel this month!

The color of this “Peach Sorbet” dress had me envisioning a cold dessert. What a fun way to kick off the theme for this post!  Red paired with pastel colors like peach and pink are certainly trending in the world of colorblocking. Denim jackets and maxi dresses are definitely on the radar as well. I was tickled pink to see this outfit feature several trends…but let’s face it, strawberry-peach ice cream will never go out of style! This Peach Sorbet Colorblock Knit Maxi Dress was paired with a faded denim jacket, Lace Up Peep Toe Oxford Shoes, a Cream Bridgehamptom Large Leather Textured Tote, and a Vintage Dial Leather Strap Watch. Who’s ready to join me for some ice cream?

This cotton candy inspired look had me reminiscing of being a kid at the candy store, carefree and in the moment. This Tanzanite Double Layer Tulle Party Skirt was paired with a Peony Blossom Print Cardigan, Lace Up Peep Toe Oxford Shoes, a skinny brown belt, a piece of seafoam green diamond costume jewelry, and a Coral Bridgehampton Leather Crossbody Bag.

This outfit had so many different feels to it. It’s Hollywood meets 1950s meets a modern edge, and the list goes on and on. This Peach Rose Double Knit Cardigan with Ruffle was paired with a Strawberry Eyelit Blouse, Firecracker Stretch Cropped Pants, Honey Tortoise Sunglasses, a Vintage Dial Leather Strap Watch, Lace Up Peep Toe Oxford Shoes, and a Cream Bridgehamptom Large Leather Textured Tote. This outfit was filled with fun shades and patterns, but my favorite detail of all was the elegant ruffles on the cardigan. It inspired me to pair it with a cake design that has been heavily trending for the past year.

Now you can have your cake and eat it too!  If you love Pinterest, chances are you have crossed paths with the ever-so-trendy Ruffle Cake. Inspired by this Peach Rose Double Knit Cardigan with Ruffle, I found our collaboration to be the perfect opportunity to finally pipe out this cake. I was just a hair intimidated, but to my surprise, this cake only took me a grand total 45 minutes to decorate. Totally worth it!
