Christmas Time in the City!

When I was in first grade my parents went to New York for a conference.  It seemed very glamorous to me!  When they came back they talked about eating in Little Italy, going to a Broadway show, and going to see the Radio City Rockettes. Then they told me a real camel came on stage, and I couldn't believe it! IMG_1112.JPG

When my friend Valerie Parr Hill was six years old her grandparents took her to Radio City, to see a movie and the Rockettes.  She talked about the memories of that special day, and I knew that our annual Christmas outing would be to see the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall! IMG_1101.JPG

We met in New York and after a yummy lunch went to Rockefeller Center to see the tree, the angels and the skating rink.  Cara's friend from Texas, Alexa was visiting, so we had a real girls day out.

Then it was time for the show that truly captures the holiday spirit. Our favorite part was the Nativity, and yes along with amazing pageantry, there was a real camel!  (Cara has a friend in the show and said the camel has had his job in the production for 20 years!!)

And that's the true meaning of Christmas, sharing it with friends, with faith, and with love!IMG_1096.JPG
