Wanted to make sure to post all of the recipes that you saw in tonight's show.

Temp-tations Old World Bakeware Set - K42700 

 

Recipe: Banana Cake

 

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter-flavored shortening
1-1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 smashed brown bananas (the riper, the better)
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 Tbsp. vanilla
3/4 cup milk

 

Preparation

All mixing must be done by hand with a wooden spoon. Mix all the dry ingredients except flour. Add the eggs, sugar, shortening, vanilla, and milk. Mix thoroughly. Add the smashed bananas and mix. Add the flour, continuing to mix. Grease and flour a 9" x 11" pan. Pour in the batter and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes or until a knife through the center of the cake comes out dry. Cover with powdered sugar, let cool, and cover again with powdered sugar.

 

 

Recipe: Carrot Ginger Dressing

 

Ingredients:

 

1 large carrot, peeled, cut in half

1 Shallot, peeled, cut in half

1 Tbsp. tamari or soy sauce

2 Tbsps. white wine vinegar

1 Tbsp. toasted sesame seed oil

1/4 cup grape seed oil or other neutral vegetable oil

2 Tbsps. water

 

Preparation

 

Place all ingredients into the 12 ounce Tritan Nutri Ninja in the order listed

Select START/STOP and blend for 25 seconds or to desired consistency

Recipe: Pizza Macaroni & Cheese

 

Ingredients:

 

2 packages (14 ounces each) deluxe macaroni and cheese dinner mix

1/2 cup sour cream

1 can (14 1/2 ounces) petite diced tomatoes, drained

1 can (15 ounces) pizza sauce

1 small green pepper, chopped

1 small sweet red pepper, chopped

2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Italian cheese blend

2 ounces sliced pepperoni

 

Preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook macaroni according to package directions for al dente. Drain; return to pan. Stir in contents of cheese packets and sour cream. Transfer to a greased temp-tations 3 qt. oval baker.

 

2. In a small bowl, combine tomatoes and pizza sauce; drop by spoonfulls over macaroni. Top with peppers, cheese and pepperoni. 

 

Bake uncovered 25-30 minutes until bubbly.

Recipe: Greek Pasta Salad - Serves 6-8

 

Ingredients:

 

1 pound dried rotini or fusilli

4 to 5 ripe tomatoes, cut into wedges OR1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved

1 cucumber, peeled and cubed (about 2 cups)

1 half red onion, thinly slice and soaked in cool water for 10 minutes (about ½ cup)

1 red bell pepper, chopped (about 1 cup)

1 cup of Kalamata olives, pitted and halved

1 ½ to 2 cups of feta cheese, crumbled or cubed

¼ cup chopped fresh basil or mint

 

Dressing:

1/3 cup red wine vinegar

1 clove of garlic, crushed

1 teaspoon dried oregano

pinch dried marjoram

salt

freshly ground black pepper

2/3 cup olive oil

 

Directions:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rotini and cook according to the package directions.  Drain the rotini and set aside. 
  2. Combine tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, red pepper and olives in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  3. Prepare the dressing by whisking together the red wine vinegar, garlic, oregano, marjoram, salt and pepper. Whisk in the olive oil.  Set aside 
  4. Assemble the salad by adding the cooked rotini to the vegetables, then toss in the feta cheese and add as much dressing as you like (you may have some dressing left over).
  5. Finally, toss in the fresh basil or mint, and season with salt and pepper. Serve at room temperature in a serving bowl or over a bed of greens on a large platter.
  6. As an option, add diced pan seared chicken breast for heartier appetites!
