All Access Beauty: How We Prep for the Big Event

Many of our favorite QVC beauty friends will be joining us for the All Access Beauty event, and in preparation, they'll need to know much more than where to lay out their makeup brushes and plug in their hot rollers. Although all eyes will be on the studio the day of the event, leading up to that big day, many departments within Studio Park will be running at full speed to prepare our hosts and guests for their on-air appearances. One of those departments is our studio salon.

A full month before our hosts and guests even walk through the door, our Salon Scheduling Coordinator works with our salon stylists to ensure that all our hosts get primped with the amazing products that'll appear throughout the course of the event day. Our coordinator also works with our vendors, such as philosophy and Laura Geller, to reserve salon space so that they can prep each of their models. One of our customer favorites, WEN, will be prepping all of its models for their four one-hour shows and multiple hits throughout the day. Each time Chaz Dean goes on air, he brings at least seven models with him; and the number increases to 20 models when he has an hour-long show. Imagine how many gallons of WEN they must use!

A week before our guests descend upon our studio, our Image Department and Studio Operations Team meet to discuss the vendors' needs. The two groups map out the places the brands, like It Cosmetics, Kate Somerville, and Josie Maran, will call home for the 25-hour event. Bright and bubbly gal pal Mally certainly settles in, bringing her fabulousness everywhere she goes. She even brings in food not just for her team, but for the models and backstage crew.

The day before All Access Beauty, the most intense hustle and bustle occurs. Members of our Studio Operations Team ensure that everything is picture-perfect in each vendor prep room. Whether in our green rooms, conference rooms, or post-production studios, each vendor space is prepped and primed with mirrors, tissues, and towels so that all the behind-the-scenes makeup magic can be applied flawlessly. When our all-star guests finally arrive, all they need to focus on are the final details of their camera-ready look.

As the time quickly approaches for the start of the show, our hosts go over all the details with the guests, producers, and directors. There's a rush of excitement at the Studio Operations Desk, with talk of the latest beauty must-haves in the air. As the host gets a microphone and guests and models get ushered out to the studio, the only thing left to do is Lights…Camera...Q!
