what's the best eyeshadow base you've ever used?

I've used Trish McEvoy, Laura Mercier, Too Faced, Chanel, and several others that I can't recall right now. some of them were just OK, most were hard to blend, some streaked, some became cakey or blotchy.

my eyelids are crepey, droopy and slightly oily.

can anyone here recommend a great eyeshadow base/lid primer that didn't do any of the above?

and if it happens to have the added benefit of firming the lid that would be even better.

Primers are meant to be used like moisturizers -- rubbed over the skin not act like the color shadow according to one sales rep I spoke with at Sephora recently.

I like Urban Decay's Original primer and Benefit's Air Patrol BB cream eyelid primer. Both tubes if used daily lasted about 3 months.

I love the NARS eyelid primer. I don't know of any primers that firm the lid. I'd use a night cream or serum for that.

My favorite (for my 74 year old eyelids) is Kiko Milano.  It's a brand that's made in Italy, but can be ordered from one of its east coast stores.  All Kiko's products are relatively inexpensive, and I've loved everything that I've tried.  Check out the website if you are interested.

I keep going back to Clinique Touchbase in Canvas 10. That is my HG for this purpose.

My favorite eyelid "maintainer" d/c had a gentle bit of retinol and was purposely formulated for the eye area including the lid.

Maybe JJM's go-tos would take it's place?

I like By Terry Hyaluronic Eye Primer. It helps with my wrinkled lids.it also helps even out my eyelid discoloration.

I LOVE Laura Geller's clear Eyelid Spackle!  No color to cover up!  Dosen't crease and works with oily lids!

I've used Mally's touch base, eye spackle pins, and this is great!  I get it at Ulta locally, Q hasn't had it in a while.

My eyeshadow primer/base is my concealer. It works very well and also helps to cover up the staining on my eyelid. I can't use a clear primer/base because my staining would win out in a contest with my eyeshadows.

I only use eye shadows once a week. I have found Mary Kay time wise eye shadow base.

I've been eyeshadow-challenged most of my makeup-wearing life because of my Asian eyelids. So shadow bases aren't usually on my radar but I have used Urban Decay's Base and it's a really good one. Helps keep my usual ombre smokey eye from creasing which is highly visible on Asian eyes when it happens.Woman Tongue
