I use primers all the time--some are clear and some with a tint, then I will put my foundation over top either-- liquid or powder and get an ok finish. My go-to is Dr Brandt pores no more. And I applied it as normal with my fingertips. You know, rub it in and let it dry.  This last time, I put it on my  face and just smoothed it on lightly--  then  had to go check up on something, but when I got back to it, a few minutes later, I used a brush just to smooth it down, put my powder foundation on--it looked so amazing!! Smooth, nice coverage, my light warm color was very natural, lines were less apparent--am wondering if I rub the primer in too much instead of laying down a nice thin layer? It looked good all night. Guess I am a little heavy handed with my application, maybe?

When I apply a primer, I put a thin layer on, no rubbing into the skin. It's meant to provide a smooth surface whether you apply foundation on top or just a touch of concealer for casual no makeup days.

@wagirl

I use Hourglass primer.  I don't have visible pores so I'm using it to smooth the "canvas".  I just glide it on with my fingers.  I don't rub it in.  I'm glad you found a way that perfects your foundation look Smiley Happy

@monicakm ---I don't have pores much either. I just really like this primer--it is tinted but very slightly. What I was thinking about applying it so agressivesly--I don't knowWoman Embarassed
