I am 47. My life isn't what I expected. As I am heading towards 50, yes, I am trying to perfect my routine and look the best I can....but I agree with the poster who said to stay limber! Avoid the aches and pains. Make sure you are getting enough Calcium! Take care of your whole body, eat more raw fruits and vegetables! Consider taking Biotin for your hair to keep it young too (this has worked wonders for my head of hair, it looks 20 years younger).
Most importantly, be comfortable in your own skin. Accept who you are, where you've been, and where you are going. Be the best self you can be. And don't obsess about every wrinkle. Focus on being a happy person. Pamper yourself. I love pampering myself with WEN products, mud masks, gel manicures, and good books to read! Find what you love and pamper yourself to minimize some of the damage that stress causes.

This is good advice: Be comfortable. Accept and don't obsess. The best thing about the 50s is that the drama of your teens, 20s, 30s, and 40s seems so foreign. People poke fun at that commercial about the guys who are at that stage in life where nothing fazes them. Why isn't there a commercial like that for women?
This is also a good time to do something big. That something that you always thought you'd like to do or even that something you thought you'd never do. For me, it was going back to school and becoming a psychiatric nurse. I'll be 55 in October -- just in time to celebrate my one-year anniversary as an RN.
You're in for an adventure.

I passed a kidney stone (my first and last hopefully) on my 50th birthday. It's been all uphill since then. Worst pain ever!

I got breast cancer instead of a big party. Ever since then, my birthdays are a celebration of the fact that I am still here!
When I look in the mirror, I smile---not because of what I see there, but because I am seeing ANY reflection. Take that, stress, time, problems, sorrow---I WON!
I took care of terribly ill parents for a long time (only child), an ill child, had an incredibly stressful job, a sick husband, my own stuff...and a few wrinkles aren't going to bring me down!
Celebrate and enjoy!

I'm heading for that 50 myself and my life is better than I had imaged. All the drama of my 20's, 30's and early 40's is now behind me.
I am comfortable with who I am and what I want in this life. Had a few health scares and learned to take better care of myself from the inside out.
Add some strength training to your cardio. While calcium is great for bones it does nothing for your muscles which will keep you strong into old age.

silk pillow case, retin-a, topical vitamin c, plenty of water, intelligence and a pretty smile.
