Re: tired of the super sizes

I think that the larger sized bottles of the shower gels don't have as much fragrance to begin with. I recently bought a 16oz bottle of the Senorita Margarita from Sephora and it had so much fragrance compared to the 32oz bottle of the Senorita Margarita that I just finished. It was an astounding difference. Also, when you get into the 8oz size of Hope in a Jar, you really see the difference. I'm never going to buy that large size again. It actually broke down from me dipping my finger into it every day; it wasn't as fluffy as when I opened it and it began to get a fluid on top. By the way, that was at the 6 month mark, so it's not like I keep these things for years. It's sold as an 8 month supply but I can't believe that the efficacy lasts when you have something that large that isn't air tight. I prefer to get the smaller size especially in the skin care so you can use it up in about a month and have a fresh supply. With Nordstroms offering free shipping, it's almost a no brainer.

I've never been able to make it all the way through an 8 oz. hiaj and, like you, I'm not keeping them for years. I would use them every day for (almost) 8 months and would end up having to throw a portion out because of the separation. I know some people have said that just stirring it back together worked for them but it never did for me. I finally bit the bullet and cancelled my last a-d and the entire plan last month (even though I had locked in a cheaper price than they currently sell it for). I'd been delaying shipments for about 2 years because I was using other moisturizers or was just so disenchanted with the last few jars I got. I think they should make a deal on buying 2 of the 4 oz. jars here at the q. I've mostly moved on to miracle worker but I do miss hiaj when it really worked for me. The miracle worker supersize seems to work just fine and the product stays the same from first to last drop so I guess I'll stick w/that.

I may get a small jar the next time there's a good sale on the philosophy website. Plus, the shipping here basically made the price I locked in about the same as buying it from other vendors that offer free shipping. So the real bonus ended up being the easy pay and auto-delivery but what good are those if the product doesn't last?

I really only like having PG in a super size. I can see having a favorite foodie scent (or other non Grace/Love favorite scent) in super size, too, but I'm generally not a fan of super size.

I do have to say that none of my super sizes or 16 oz-ers have ever lost their scent, no matter how old they've become. I read that comment a lot, and I guess it must have to do with receiving "bad batches" or maybe I've just been lucky. :-)

I've also been very lucky with most of my super sizes for bath and body. Do you think you're going to get that 64 oz. size of pure grace? I must admit, I'm tempted by it. I love pg shower gel (with it were still the shower cream) and this would be a value for me but I am a little hesitant because I don't want to start having scent issues halfway through.

Re: tired of the super sizes

I know that many have had issues with scents lasting or getting products that seem to have lost their fragrance, but this has never happened to me. I guess I've been lucky, but even my 4 yo Pure Grace still smells perfect. In fact, most days I use it it is my only scent--I don't need to use anything else.

Add me to the list of people that have never had problems with the scent lasting with their shower gels. I have a good number of supersizes and as far as I am concerned they can keep bringing them. I purchased the 64oz. of pure grace the other night. It's one of my favorites and I have no doubt that it will last.

I have no idea if this is the reason why mine last or not. However I do not open them even to smell until I plan on adding them into the rotation for use. I also store them in a cool dark cupboard. I am just finishing up with a 32oz. bottle of Wild blackberry Blossom which was a TSV either in 2011 or 2012, and it's fine.

ChynnaBlue, I agree with the supersizes being a QVC specialty. That is why I buy my Philosophy from the Q. I have never had any Philosophy products "go bad."

I actually didn't know PG was available in the 64 oz size, until you mentioned it. :-) I watched the video for this size from Shawn's Tuesday Night Beauty, and heard her mention it was being launched (I guess it was also shown during the Super Size Beauty TSV at midnight, too?). It's funny because I was watching a little of Tuesday Night Beauty, but switched channels here and there, and missed the presentation, so thanks for mentioning it. :-) I'm tempted to get it, but probably won't because I like buying PG in the future TSVs because there's usually a set offered in a configuration I like. If I bought the 64 oz, it would be crazy for me to also buy upcoming PG TSVs, unless I wanted to gift one. It is very tempting, though!

icezeus, I have a lot of opened 3 in 1s that are "old," and still haven't lost their scent. Maybe it depends on where someone lives/climate or maybe there are some bad batches here and there. Enjoy your 64 oz PG - I am really tempted by it, but will hold off (for now). :-)

I like celery, I use to be a big fan of the TSV's. My problem now is that all that I enjoy out of the configurations are the actual shower gel. I know that I am in the minority here but I can't stand the texture of their whipped BB's. I have tried them twice now and it just does not feel good to me going on at all. Gritty, is what comes to mind. I am also sick of the EDP's, being added with just about every configuration they have. It reminds me on how they were when they were pushing Purity. Enough already.

Re: tired of the super sizes

icezeus, I'm with you on the EDPs. Someone started a "Dream TSV" thread once, and I replied that my dream TSV would be if an EDP or spray fragrance is part of the configuration, send the EDP or spray fragrance with the first kit, but allow us to skip the EDP or spray fragrance for future kits, and just send the other items included in the TSV. I know that would be a nightmare for the fulfillment team, though! One can dream. :-) I don't mind the EDP/spray fragrance being part of a TSV once a year, but if I want the TSV on auto-delivery, that's too many EDPs/spray fragrances for me.
