(this is for a Gift) Proactiv vs Proactiv Plus - What is the diff?

The gal I am buying it for has moderate acne and can't afford skin care and wishes she could try Proactiv so I was going to get her a small kit for Christmas.

What is the Diff. between the two and why doesn't the new PLUS have a toner? Maybe that has to be a separate purchase.....

Proactiv + has a moisturizer instead of the toner that the original kit has. They make a Proactiv + toner you can buy separately, but it is not the same and does not work as well in my opinion. I believe they are phasing out the original Proactiv line which is a shame because it works better. The cleanser and BPO treatment in both lines are exactly the same IMO.

I don't think there is that much difference between the 2 formulas other than the + is so much more pricey.

I love the original Proactiv products. I hope they don't discontinue them. I especially like the toner. It is soothing, does not sting or burn. I can't tell you how many friends and family members of mine use this toner, all by itself because of how I have raved about it. People that don't even have acne love this toner.

If you compare the ingredients, amount in the bottles/tubes and prices, you'll see, there isn't that much difference. I'm oily, so having a moisturizer vs. a toner being a core component in a kit, is not a good thing for me. I'm not a big fan of moisturizers anyway. I don't use one that often.

I like the original Proactiv kit and for the money and the results, I'd buy that one, if you're giving this person a gift. It would be around $50 for all the core products and that will last her a while. That's so very thoughtful of you to give her something to help her acne. I am sure she will appreciate it very much.

Thank you. That was going to be my gift limit too was 50.00, do you have a kit you would recommend? Do you get it here on the Q or some place else? I think the moisturizer in the PLUS kit would be good, maybe I can get her a basic kit then get the PLUS moisturizer in addition off ebay or amazing.... just thinking out loud Smiley Happy

Thanks for your help & time!

Don't buy through QVC unless you want to pay way too much. Check you mall to see if they have a Proactiv kiosk. Also, I wouldn't waste you money on the + moisturizer--it is really nothing special. I actually liked their green tea moisturizer better, but I am not sure they still make it.

i have seen it in my mall but since I don't use it, I've never paid any attn to it, I "figured" that would be more expensive than buying thru the Q? I guess I'm wrong. Maybe Amazon??
