Like clothing, shoes, makeup and all the other ways we decorate ourselves with, they send a message about who you are. The way we make ourselves appear is a message to the rest of the world. This isn't an opinion or a belief or a prejudice. It's a fact. Whether we like it or not, we send a message by our appearance.

Haven't we seen tattoos on a model to demonstrate a product being able to cover them up?
I think some tattoos are artistically beautiful, but I don't like them on a woman's body.
We women have so MANY ways to decorate ourselves that I don't see the point of them.
It wouldn't change my decision about a certain product.

I saw a young woman in Target today........her entire face was covered with some kind of a ""lace"" tattoo.........in a greenish hue. I wondered what that's gonna look like when she starts wrinkling........

Oh my, on her face? I hope it was not permanent.

I'm not making my life decisions based on what some small minded prejudiced people might think when I walk down the street. That's about them not me.

Oh and I don't really care if someone thinks I'm cheap because I got a tattoo to commemorate the fact that I was finally in remission long enough to be considered cured of my cancer. Or the tattoo I got with my anniversary after my husband had almost died of a heart attack ( he got a matching one after I was diagnosed with cancer a year later), or the ones I got just because I thought they were pretty. To me my tattoos are a mix of personal expression and a memorial of different times in my life just like my surgery scars and pregnancy stretch marks. But I get it that many people just see the ink. It's ok. I didn't get them for anyone but myself anyway.

I don't usually comment on tattoo threads. I don't have any and probably never will. Never say never!
But jaxsmom, you have such touching reasons for getting yours, I just had to say, you're awesome, and I hope you and your husband have long and healthy lives.
And I think the tattoos that are on the soles of the feet are great....but isn't that area very sensitive? I'd love to have them, but how much would that hurt?

I bet they are beautiful! Good for you! I would love to have a little pink ribbon in honor of my Mom (who passed away from breast cancer) and for me being a 12 year survivor of it.

Thanks ladies. We've been married over 20 years and I hope we have many more years together. 05gage25 if you want one, you should get one. A double pink ribbon would be really pretty.
