stacking self tanners?

Once I recall Lisa saying that alternates self tanners. Does anyone else remember this and do you remember what she said she uses? I assume she does this so she can use products from multiple vendors, but I also accept that it may give a more dimensional tan. Another question is how does one correct the occasional blotch of improperly applied self tanner?
