Re: "PRODUCT'S I'M NO LONGER BUYING"

@monicakm    Thanks...and it's a big NO to your questions....my face does not feel hydrated....and the flakeness in some areas makes me nuts (visible in 10x zoom mirror).   You showed me a month or so ago the products you used for hydration.  I am frugal and prefer to use what I have before buying new but...they are not working for me so I might give your products a try.

thank you for your response.

@Mom2Dogs

You're welcome.  Nothing wrong with being frugal, but, why keep using a product that isn't working??  You might not see the need to use as many products for hydration as I do (I'm sure most people wouldn't) but I know there are others out there that also feel the need to "flood" their face with hydrating products.  My two favorites are milky essences.

Dr.Ceuracle

  • Kombucha Tea: The fermented black tea that has abundant probiotics and vitamin B
  • Vegan Tea Complex: Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water , Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate, Schisandra Chinensis Fruit Extract
  • A vegan cream essence that helps balance the oil-moisture levels and restore the health of sensitive skin
  • Contains Kombucha Tea Extract that is rich in probiotics to help detoxify and strengthen skin's immunity

and Kiehls Milky Toner (Essence)

What it is: A gentle exfoliating toner with LHA, a salicylic acid derivative, that refines skin’s texture to reveal visibly smoother, softer, and brighter skin.

Skin Type: Normal, Dry, Combination, and Oily

Skincare Concerns: Dryness, Dullness, and Uneven Texture

 Kiehl's Since 1851 - Milk-Peel Gentle Exfoliating Toner 6.8 oz/ 200 mL Clean at Sephora

Re: "PRODUCT'S I'M NO LONGER BUYING"

Fun discussion. I have never used shaving cream. I just use body wash. As for body wash, I am on my last philosophy 32 ounce bottle. I will not purchase them anymore. I will only buy Dove, Olay, or Aveeno, or others from the grocery store.

My husband and I are retiring in two years. We just sold our large gorgeous home and moved into an apartment while we look for a cottage in the Western North Carolina mountains. We want to live more simply now.

I have been using up what I have in my stash for over a year now. I don't like eyeshadow palettes because I only like light taupe/gray eyeshadow colors. I have enough to last a few years now. I only use these items currently:

*bareminerals complexion rescue cream

*Tarte creamy shape tape concealer

*Laura Mercier face powder

*MAC eyeliner in slate and eggplant

*L'Oreal voluminous primer and mascara

*MAC lipstick

*Tarte Maracusia lip balms, espcially in orchid

*Milani baked blush in petal primavera

*MAC lipglosses in cultured and nymphette

*MAC eyebrow in Omega, I use this as eyeshadow too

*Julep cream eyeshadow stick in putty

* MAC painpot in Painterly

I used up all of my higher-end skincare products. I use Vanicream to wash my face. It is the most gentle foaming cleanser that I have ever used. I use Cerave retinol serum two times a week and used the big tub of face/body moisturizer from Cerave for moisturizing my face. It works great. I am so glad that I made the decision to stop using so many products and higher end products because I now realize that I don't need to waste money on those products anymore. In two years we will have less money to spend on things we don't need. I am training myself to live on a smaller budget. It is eye opening. Another thing, I will turn 58 in ten days--nothing will ever make me look 38 again.

I went from an over the top skin care regimen that was complicated to four products that I rotate through. Easy now and a lot less expensive. AND my skin looks great!

@Jacie what 4 products are you using ?

I'm not going to buy any more new brands of foundation.  I know what works for me and I'm not going to try any more new formulas or try to get my absolute 100% perfect match.  I can use powder or bronzer to adjust the color and that's that. Smiley Very Happy

@Shanus   I know the feeling! I feel like Goldilocks and the Three Bears when trying to find foundation -too yellow, too dark, too luminous, too orange, too perfumed- at this point, I'll stick with "almost" right! Smiley Very Happy.  I have a skin tone that is so hard to match- fair ivory with warm yellow tones and a hint of olive.  I can get away with using powder over top to color correct, but I wish I could just have a 100% true match of a foundation.  The absolute fantastic almost perfect matches I've ever purchased are Natasha Denona liquid foundation in "10Y" and Becca liquid foundation in "Shell"- and of course both are discontinued and I'm rationing out the last containers in my collection Smiley Very Happy

Re: "PRODUCT'S I'M NO LONGER BUYING"

Done with Philosophy!  I have used it for years.  Got the TSV in the Amazing Grace scent.  There is no scent except chemicals.  Original founder of Philsophy must be so disappointed in what has happened to her orginal products.  I can't believe how the Philosophy reps can sell this product anymore.  Take it off QVC.  I have used these products since they first came out and since the selling of the company have watched the quality disappear.  What a shame that this has happened to a great product.

Re: "PRODUCT'S I'M NO LONGER BUYING"

I will never buy another eyelash curler.  As I got older, my eyelashed got more curl.  I don't need it a this point.  I'm glad I have eyelashes to be honest.
