"Overcoming Your Fear of Makeup; Part 1"

Allie Glines posted a great video on YouTube today entitled "Overcoming Your Fear Of Makeup; Parrt 1."

This video is part of a series she is going to do.  Today she focused on knowing how to pick out the right foundation shade, application, color corrector, and concealer.  I found it informative and thought some of you might be interested in watching it.

@JudyL

I saw the thumbnail for that video and said "ewww".  I don't have a fear of makeup so I moved past it.  I like Allie, I just don't watch as many beauty videos as I used to.

Cute story....on the way to the city yesterday, DH looked over at me and said "you nailed your makeup today".  So naturally my mind instantly goes to "does that mean I normally DON'T nail it?" Smiley Surprised  But I managed to control what I wanted to ask and just said, "Thank you!" LOL

Haven't done one of these in a while and it was DH approved so here's what I had on my face yesterday.

with this over it.  MAC Aladdin Collection

A darkish turquoise eyeliner on the bottom waterline and lash liner.  I don't remember the brand.

Tom Ford Tobacco Oud perfume

Light washed jeans.  A brown/black/cream top that looks like an animal print at first but it's not.  You guys have seen it.  Yellowbox Flipflops in animal print trimmed in denim.

SO, am I the only one that knew if you haven't worked, you can't get a SS check? LOL Apparently I will draw off my husband.  None of all that gibberish made sense to my MS riddled brain.  I think I would rather not be able to walk but had all my brain cells!  Sheese!  Oh well, I did get signed up for Medicare.  I made the day of the SS worker that we dealt with tho. I can't tell if it was a good thing or a "bless her heart" type of thing Smiley Surprised  Dad's words are ringing clearer and clearer with each passing old age year.  Life Hard.

@monicakm  -  I bet you looked wonderful.  So nice of hubby to notice.

This sounds interesting - "A darkish turquoise eyeliner on the bottom waterline and lash liner".

I used to watch Allie Glines, but lost interest.

@San Antonio Gal

It was my pop of color.  Everything was quite neutral and overall light-med  brown.  I'll go get it...It's the brand Moria that Tati mentions in some of her videos.

OK, DH and I are going to rummage thru the shop vac to look for my earring.  Please keep your fingers crossed!

@monicakm   Are you saying you had all of those products on your face at the same time?

Seems like an awful lot of work.

Re: "Overcoming Your Fear of Makeup; Part 1"

@monicakm  I originally thought that one couldn't collect SS if they never worked. Turns out that you can get part of your husband's, though at a lower price. There are certain requirements which you qualified for.

I also have the Tarte Park Avenue Princess bronzer. It's a light tone, and works good with my highlighters.

I won't be watching the video because I don't think I need it.. The video could help women who aren't sure about wearing makeup, though.

A normal amount of makeup in my opinion @Citrine1 .  It's not a lot of work either.

Well lol, yes I'm saying that. It's referred to as a full face of makeup. If you wear a full face of makeup, which of these products would you have not used? For the lips, I always start with a lip tint/stain so when my lip gloss wears off I still have some color. What does your makeup routine look like when you go into the city for appointments and dinner? Some people wear nothing and some people are over the top and most are in between.
