question about coffee leaf/seed extract?

If a skincare item has coffee leaf/seed extract in the ingredient list, is that the same as having caffeine as an ingredient? I'm wondering, if I don't like to use caffeine, will there be an issue with the coffee leaf/seed extract..... what do you think?

Re: question about coffee leaf/seed extract?

Find the INCI name and then you can look it up. Camellia seed oil has no caffeine so I wouldn't make any assumptions about the coffee leaf or seed extract. Interestingly, it may be the leaf does have caffeine while the seed does not so you really need to have that INCI name (proper universal chemical name but that's not the acronym).

Re: question about coffee leaf/seed extract?

Caffeine, be it from tea or coffee or cocoa, et. al., is usually used in eye products to take down puffiness. Either that, or in a body lotion for cellulite.

BC mentioned camellia seed oil, but if you were to make a tea from camellia (white tea), then that would have some caffeine.

To your Q, yes, I would think that leaf/seed extract does have caffeine.
