I too am in my 40's and always had a few pimples, and sometimes a jawline cyst or two, until I began using the Clarisonic. I have been using it for about 6 months now and my skin is CLEAR. Good luck!
I truly am glad Clarisonic works for some people. It didn't work for me. I have very sensitive skin and it broke me out. I used the softest brush with it. I also have very pink skin naturally and it cased me to have broken capillaries. Just another point of view.

I had very painful cystic acne, especially painful along my jaw line. My derm prescribed minocycline (sp?) to clear up the bacteria and a tri-phasal BCP.
Using Retin A helped get rid of the scars.
I use the original Proactive moisturizer, which has been sold out for a while, so I'm thinking they no longer make it.
I have 4 bottles left. After that I will have to find something new. I really like this stuff. It is the only thing I've tried over the years that doesn't break me out.

Old Proactiv is better in my opinion, but I believe they are phasing it out. When it comes to acne, no one product works for everyone. I think the reason the old Proactiv work so much better for me was because of the toner. The toner had glycolic acid in it and the new system does not. I am using Paula's choice products now and getting good results. Just an FYI...QVC prices for Proactiv are ridiculously overpriced. If you want to try it, check out their kiosks in the mall. It's less expensive there.

I just started the Proactiv + about a week ago. I didn't get the toner in my first kit; I loved that toner from the original Proactiv. But, in the box that I received last week there is a listing of products I can order to compliment the 3-step system, and the Re-texturizing toner is one of them. "It is alcohol free, contains glycolic acid and portulaca extract to help resurface the skin, promote healthy skin turnover, and even the appearance of skin tone." Also apparently comes with their 'specially weaved pads' that you apply it with.
So far, this system compared to the original has really mostly caused extreme peeling and flaking. I preferred the original -- also, the jumbo sizes I could order from here would last me a over a year, as I only used them once a day. In fact I would have the repairing lotion until it expired and have to throw some away, it worked sooo well. It was an auto-delivery for every four months, I would have had to bathe in it to use that much! Edit: I think every four months, iirc.

I used the ""old"" Proactiv with great results and especially loved the glycolic toner as it really evened out the skin tone. Haven't tried the ""new"" Proactiv.

Hi there! I did try the new toner and unfortunately it is no where near as good as the old toner. It is mostly witch hazel and very little glycolic acid. I did like the new proactiv at first, but then I realized it just wasn't as good.
