hello! i see the donor thread has been poofed, so i just thought i would post the addendum on here.

well, the family asked dh to speak at the funeral. which he of course said he would. well the funeral director called and started asking me about music and order of opperations stuff, and i found out the dh was doing the whole funeral. the service, the gravesite, and even the prayer at lunch.

so we werent sure how to handle it , but dh wrote a great piece on the boy, whom we loved, and delivered it well, with a sprinkle of theological stuff to give some hope. and i think it went really really well.

considering it is hard to turn a tragedy like that into a tolerable social situation. it was good and a relief when it was over.

the poor father is of course a grief stricken zombie. i saw him just milling around through the people, i was so sick for him i couldnt stand it.

if you feel like it, please pray for him in the next few weeks, as he told me he doesnt know what is going to happen, as he has raised the boy as a single dad (later with his partners help) all these years.

he is a kind man, and any ;prayers would be appreciated.
