Maybe you'll meet my brother.I'm HERE!!!!! and the right age!!!! Seriously though, if he finds a good one please let me know. I've always been leery of trying one. But at my and your brother's age, it's harder to find someone.
Maybe I will...T1hakls. Persephonel

Also men seem to be unrealistic with their expectations of who would be suitable for them. just like in the real world. men think that a date should be 15 years their junior, and a 10. it's like hey buddy, have you taken a good look in the mirror? i'd be generous giving you a 5. after awhile you can really read through the lines, and there a a lot of commonly used buzz words. a few of my favorites are "handyman at home, good provider, and I have a Harley" I guess there is a lid for every pot. right?
I don't message a guy. I let him message me. Many times someone doesn't respond because they haven't paid $ to join the site.
A lot of guys start out with their vehicles, their bass boats, etc. It's supposed to impress you. Like oooohh, what a nice bass boat you have.
I haven't experienced the "I want to date a teenager" thing. When I look at a profile if it says he wants to date someone 15 yrs younger then I pass. The same with guys who will date anyone of any age no matter where they live in the US. Sure they will.
You do have to have a thicker skin than many. It takes guts. Like going on job interview after interview and no call back even if you were the perfect candidate.

I have a good friend - she is 69 and has been a widow for three years...she has met a number of men on Match.com and has wound up dating several of them, but nothing long term...as others have said, you just need to be careful but open to possibilities...communicate by phone and e-mail for awhile before you meet for coffee or cocktails...she has found Match to be the best site for her...and I think she has tried them all!!! LOL!!!
Also, my stepson met his spouse playing an on-line game, so you never know....
To me, dating sites are the singles bars of today...and many people I know met their spouses in a bar!!! Just sayin....

They've been married for about 4 years. However, she was in her 40's and her husband is 5 years younger. I also worked with a woman who met her husband on EHarmony. Both she and her husband are in their 30's.
Don't know how well these programs work for ages 65+.
They don't because they expect the women that are 65 Plus to look like a barbie doll. The woman I work with in my office uses those sites and and she's 65, thin but looks her age. The men she dates expects to see a drop dead gorgeous woman, but what kills me is it's ok for them to be fat, bald and not good looking for being in their late 60's.

I have a "friend" who has personality issues because of what her mother took during her pregnancy. This girl was married three times to emotionally abusive men and finally found the nicest most wonderful man just perfect for her on Christian Mingle.com. They've been married ten years now, and this is the only happiness she has ever known in her life, bless her.
Another close friend used Match.com and it listed wonderful people. The problem was she knew all of them because the geographical raidus she put in was so close, it picked people she had gone to highschool with!
