My mom and I went to see a GI doctor ( female) about 6 months ago - my mom went because she has acid reflex - stomach aches and I went because of Hemmroids that are painful and sometimes bleed. I was expecting the The Dr to examine me but she just told my mom and myself to go and get a colonosopy- we waited almost 1 hour in her office before being seen.
I was going to make a appointemnt in a few weeks and then I had a major issue with my back, finding out that I had a bad herniated disc that was causing extreme pain and made me unable to walk for months- I had to have a few epidural injections and therapy. I did talk to the doctor and told me when I'm able to walk again then make a appt for the colon test. ( the doctor told me I would have to be able to move and get to the bathroom many times)
I tried to make a appointment a few days ago but was told since it has been 6 months that you have to make a office call - I didn't get even looked at the first time and paid a heavy co - pay and wated about 1 hour to be seen.
Is this a common practice??
I had this issue for years but wanted to go see a specialist.
