Re: mascara madness at Nordstrom

I was doing an online chat so I could be prepared. I only use brown mascara; some of the browns are nearly black.

Very helpful.

I know that there's a lot of discussion on this board about how long to keep m/u. I am very careful about mascara; three months and I pitch it even if I haven't used it up. After three months bacteria can form. My opthamologist has this posted on a bulletin board in his office.

Re: mascara madness at Nordstrom

The mascara business is protecting themselves thus they say toss after 3 mos. I keep mine for 9 mos or more & have no issues. Yes, I did read your opthalmologist. We do live in a litigious society.

Re: mascara madness at Nordstrom

My opthamologist is one of the few ocular opthamologists in the country. He's also board certified in rheumatology.

He also is the major researcher in THE WORLD for autoimmune uveitis. People come from all over the world to see him. I try to get the first appointment at 7:30 a.m. because any one who comes from out of state or country is seen first. There is no charge for people in the study. Many are children.

His wife, who is his nurse, and has dry eye posted the blurb about mascara. I doubt that the doctor even knows what mascara is.
