let me first say, that i like mally for the most part.
i know she is a mom, and works hard and all that. i think she is pretty, and her lingo doesnt bother me much, thats her schtick, and thats o.k.
i have zero investment in liking or not liking her stuff. and i try a item or two from time to time.
last item i purchased was the baby lipgloss pen and blush, the one that is supposed to be the secret she uses on all the stars, and its o.k.,and i kept it. a little too orange for me right now, but still workable. because i am fair complected in the winter.
so i opened the box last night ,a very excited, as i love to play in new makeup, and tried on the primer/shadow kit. in which i ordered a light as i have light skin. the base made my eyes look like i had applied that old white concealer from the late 70-early80-s. so i thought oh, well, it is supposed to go under shadow.
then i tried on the taupe shadow which is a great shade, except i couldnt get it dark enough over the white seeming primer. i think i could have put black eyeshadow over that primer, and it still would have shined through.
so i tried the bullet proof concealer.
there are no words for how bad this concealer made my undereye area look. i know how to apply makeup, and this was not my error. it seemed to freeze and crinkle every line under my 43yo eyes, and then it looked like a tiny little mally makeukp artist came in and took the bulletproof eyeliner and traced every wrinkle.
and that was before the setting powder.
i put it on just for kicks, knowing the set was going back at this point, and was blown away that there was something that could make me look even older than the concealer did. you know when they age someone in a movie, and you can tell it is the same person, just with "old makup", well thats what the mally concealer did for me.
but it is bulletproof, as i had a terrible time getting it off. in fact there is still a little left on this morning i see. i may have to break out the purity to get this stuff off.
the bloom lippie is very nice sheer peachy/pink biege. looks nice and makes the lips look really full. didnt try the liner and mascara , as i am going to send it back.
i would still try mally for color cosmetics, as i have had several "goods" from her. (thats what my bff and i call a success, was it a good or a bad) but the makeup-y treatmenty stuff, she can save for the stars, as it isnt working on me.

ps, fave eye primer so far, is be in the tube. nice color and doesnt age the eye like urban decay or clinique does on me.
