You should go to a Merle Norman if you have one nearby. They let you try before you buy. I know you said drugstore but they are cheaper than most highend department store brands. They also have free gifts with purchase throughout the year. They have so may different types of foundation from CC cream with spf 30 to liquid and cream foundations. I have been using MN for over 30 years. I have tried others but always go back. Give it a shot. I think you will be happy.

I think that the Maybelline SPF 18 hydrating foundation is an OK one. It does have a scent though. I use the shade 120 Classic Ivory. For me whether I use a foundation, IT Cosmetics CC cream SPF 50, or a concealer, I must sheer them out with a damp blender sponge as under a 10X mirror, I find these products can look streaky or can sit in pores or texture around my eyes and nose. I don't count on a foundation or CC cream for sunscreen protection on my face as there's no way I would ever use a teaspoon of foundation or CC cream on my face.

I also prefer to use a sunscreen underneath (Clinique Pep Start tinted sunscreen or Aussie Gold tinted sunscreen - both with SPF 50) and then a makeup primer (either Smashbox or Maybelline) before applying a foundation or CC cream.

I'm looking for a heavy coverage foundation, that does not settle into lines and wrinkles.

I used to call it a makeup "base", but maybe that's old-shool terminology.  Smiley Wink

Does her base have a lot of coverage?  Thanks

Hi. Merle Norman has foundations from sheer to total coverage. They have Spf also. I think you would like them. They are good about giving samples. Have a nice weekend!

I forgot to add that you can go to their website under store locator and type in your zip code and they will give you all the stores in your area. Good luck!
