when I was in my 50's I used Bare Minerals briefly but found that it made my skin look dry and crinkled and just horrible. but I'm tired of liquid foundations and I'm thinking of trying the iT powder foundation, if anyone can convince me that it won't make me look like a prune. my skin is normal to slightly oily, but the Bare Minerals gave my skin a weird crackled look that I never want to see again. I know everyone is different, but does anyone have any advice from experience on this?

I personally didn't like it. It looked cakey and didn't feel soft on, and enhanced my pores, and my pores don't look that bad without makeup on. I do like and use BE original foundation, I keep trying new ones but always go back to BE.

There was another thread on this same topic started today that yiu might want to look at.
I prefer the IT Celebration without illumination.

Me too.
I used BE for awhile and between it settling into every line and pore and the terrible itching caused by the Bismuth in BE, I moved on to Smashbox Halo and to IT Celebration (no illumination)
I use a tinted BB Cream with SPF under any powder foundation.

I also use a primer, usually either BE Neutralizing or Laura Geller Spackle. BE doesn't settle into my fine lines and pores, if it is, you may be using too much. A little goes a long way.

I got caught up last night and ordered it but then cx it...I have tried the powdered formulas too and at 58 they make me look cakey and just don't look good. I've tried every foundation out there from La Mer to the least expensive. I started green juicing honestly and my face just glows and I put just a touch only on my cheeks, forehead and chin of I believe it's the line Ellen DeGeneres represents..sorry, the name is just not in my head at the moment lol, it's the new one that lifts..I think I paid $12.00 & I love it. I definitely think less is more as we get past 50

I used BE for years and years until it quit making me look flawless. Both of them seem to make me look and feel dry (and I have oily combo skin). I thought IT's foundation would be better for me, but it wasn't. I am using BE's Bare Skinn liquid foundation and Avon's Magix Cashmere foundation. Both give me a more hydrated look and feel. Sigh, I miss the days of using BE Matte and regular foundations, but they aren't for me any more.
