gee, your hair smells terrific

Do you remember this product that came out in the 70's?

I thought of it because Avon now sells some of their fragrances to be applied to your hair.  What a novel idea.  It brings back memories.

@ellybeth  I so remember that product and loved it as a teen.  It really did smell terrific.  Thanks for a good memory.

Re: gee, your hair smells terrific

I was in high school when this shampoo first came out and I absolutely loved the scent! It brings back wonderful memories for me.

Believe it or not, I just washed my hair with it a few days ago, I happened to come across the shampoo in the Vermont Country Store catalog several years ago and ordered a bottle. I only use it once in awhile - I want to be able to use it for as long as I can. I don't believe the VCS carries it anymore and I haven't seen it sold anywhere else. Some people said that the scent wasn't the same as the original, but it smelled just as good as it always did to me. My hair smelled just as 'terrific' the day after I washed it. Smiley Wink

One of the very best smelling old shampoos was Clairol's Herbal Essence.  It came in a green bottle and I think the shampoo itself was green.   The new one smells nothing like the old one.  Kind of like "Amazing Grace".....

I wish they would bring back the Clairol Herbal Essence shampoo. It has such a wonderful clean scent.

@sunshine45 I remember the egg shampoo!  I also can't remember the brand - maybe helene curtis?  maybe some other brand.  I think it was a good shampoo too

[ Edited ]

My sister bought the Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific from the Vermont Country Store a while back.  She said the scent was different from the original.

Herbal Essence (the original one)  was amazing.  "Come Into the Garden....of Earthly Delights!"

My favorite shampoo scent of all time was and still is Prell.  The concentrate, which you cannot get anymore, smelled even better than the original.  I once called Proctor and Gamble and asked them to make bar soap and body wash and body spray that smelled like Prell!   It is still being made, but by a different company.

When products are sold to new companies I swear they leave out something from the ingredient recipe on purpose.  Prell still smells good, but not exactly like it did in the 60s and 70s.  Same with colognes.  British Sterling is on it's third maker and it only vaguely resembles the fantastic stuff of the 60s and 70s.

Does anyone remember a men's cologne from Revlon by the name of "Pub"?

That is my all time favorite and cannot be had except on Ebay for outrageous money. (  It is also bottles that are at least 35-50 years old, and by now is most likely  pure alcohol!)

I have requested Vermont Country Store to bring that back but so far no go.
