Have you tried changing your moisturizer before changing your foundation?

A better moisturizer might do the trick with current foundations.

That said, in summer I mix my own tinted moisturizer by adding foundation to my moisturizer and apply over clean skin with serum first.

Why the heck am I spending mucho $ on a tinted moisturizer when I have the basic ingredients right on my vanity?!

I have very dry skin also, and share the foundation struggle! So far all the prestige brand liquids are too dry for me and give me a cakey look in my super dry areas. I am frustrated and ready to give up on them. I have tried so many including Lorac, IT CC, Smashbox, and Tarte , just to name a few recent tries. Most powder foundations are also too dry with the exception of IT celebration foundation. Sometimes I want more coverage of a liquid then I can get from the powder though.

For now I am going to revisit the drug store brands that I have had luck with in the past, Almay, or Loreal. After hearing many great reviews I recently bought the Revlon color stay, it was also too dry and caked. I always use a good primer, but it doesn't seem to help me.

I look forward to reading the suggestions here. I have been really working on my skin, and hope I can keep my skin more hydrated, my problem was that I am also acne prone, and until recently ANY moisturizer broke me out immediately. I want to mention I LOVE several of these foundations and really hope to be able to use them and end this struggle for good.

I tried the Josie foundation at Sephora, it may be moist enough, but very shear and the colors were all a bad match, I am light/med cool toned, and it was a funny orange on me.

I recently tried Lancôme and was pleasantly surprised. It was Teint Idole Ultra. It was pretty good coverage without being dry and cakey. I have the same problem. I know you said you were looking at drugstore brands but thought I'd throw that out there. Oh forgot to say the color match was spot on!

I am enjoying the Pur 4 in 1 foundation. It's more of a tinted moisturizer, but it does give some coverage. Check it out at Ulta or Sephora.
