thanks for the feedback...Interesting, if you go to a Sephora or any department store and want to try a product, they spay sanitizer on it and it's good to go. I bet there are so many women who wouldn't mind sanitizing these products so that they can have an opportunity to own and use these products that they would otherwise not be able to purchase.

Yet, we donate shoes gloves, undergarments and other questionable items that could be just as potentially as unsanitary in terms of safety.....hmmmmmm some people's thought process is very scary.

would YOU use a store tester to try make-up? No? of course not! why would you think women in shelters want your opened, USED makeup? and how do you possibly walk in and donate to battered women's shelters!!! they are in out of the way areas and hidden away and not easy to find for one important reason - so the men who beat them up cannot find them!!

You'd be surprised how many people think nothing of using those samples in Sephora! Skeeves me out. People also buy used cosmetics at garage sales all the time. {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

And no you cannot walk into a Women's Shelter but it's easy enough to find a way to get things to them.

Yeah, I see women ALL THE TIME putting all full faces of makeup in Sephora and many, especially the younger ones, are not sanitizing the items. Scary!

If you go into my local free standing Sephora on an early evening Saturday, it's generally jam packed with teens doing their make-up for the night.

A perfect reason why mothers should buy their daughters make up.

I would never use anyones used makeup. I don't care how sanitized it is. I may test it on the back of my hand, but never ever on my face. I would donate only if it was brand new and sealed.

Ah, we're good. SmileI have never tried or even thought about testing either of these.

I donate to the thrift store which benefits the homeless shelter here where I live. I currently have a bag full of cosmetics, hygiene products, ect. that I didn't want to donate to the thrift store. I called the homeless shelter and they said they will be more than happy to take it and that I could drop it off to them anytime. The products are all new, although I would not think of giving them used cosmetics.

Thanks Susan25, I guess I don't buy many of the kits that come with a gift with purchase.
