I use products I like and really don't pay attention to where they come from.

What matters more to me is the list of ingredients.

I am Italian,in fact I go back there every summer for 2 months.Chinese immigrants own stores and factories now in Italy. They pay less taxes for about 10 years, then new owners take over.
They have labels that say 'Made in Italy",even if the employess are mostly Chinese.I don't know where the raw materials come from.
I wish every cosmetic sold online described where it is made.
Yesterday I was shopping at Costco and Trader's Joe.If something was made in China,it was put back on the shelf.

Interesting to see this confirmed. I read an article about this a little while back--might have been in the Atlantic? It focused mainly on luxury handbag manufacturing. There's a real issue with Chinese businesspeople setting up sweatshops in Italy and then producing bags for major high end brands, and legaly putting "Made in Italy" on them.
According to the article it's running native artisans out of the market. And the working conditions are really bad and far below EU standards. Some human traffiking is said to be supplying some of the labor too. The author went along on a raid.
Maybe there should be two labels for different types of bags. One that says "Made in Italy" the other that says "Made in Italy by semi-captive labor with average craftsmanship, amongst rat droppings, please send help!"

Nope, everything I buy is American made. Always has been and always will be.
