cancelling an order

[ Edited ]

I thought that we had until midnight on the day of order to cancel.  I ordered an item this morning and changed my mind.  Its already in "preparing your oder: status and I cannot make a change to it...

@MrsCat21.  You thought wrong.  Midnight has nothing to do with it.  There's no set time; you're  lucky if you can cancel in an hour but it's often less.

I recently ordered from Chico's.  They gave me 20 minutes to cancel or make a change.  It seems brief time periods are standard.

With HSN you do have until midnite, that is when all the orders of the day become finalized.

I believe HSN gives you several hours or until midnight..but not positive.  But not QVC,

It has been a very long time that you have been given a very short window to be able to cancel an item (maybe 30 minutes or less...but it varies).  The only exception...back order,  wait listed, advance order, etc.

I did a live chat and then I called CS.  You previously had until midnight to cancel but they changed the policy in order to compete with other retailers who ship the same day.  So now you have about an hour to cancel (if you arel ucky).  She still could not cancel the order but they are waiving shipping to and from for me.  Lesson learned...

Since when does QVC ship the same day? Sounds like an excuse to cover their shipping partners bad business practices.

Many times, orders are not being fulfilled at an actual QVC warehouse. The orders get transferred to the vendor and ship from the vendor's warehouse.  Because of that, it would be too complicated to leave a cancellation window open too long.

That's hilarious!

I find QVC to be the slowest shipper I purchase from, you're absolutely correct.

Sometimes they don't ship for 10 days, I've called them to cancel at that point and they say, 'No, you cannot cancel, the order is being processed'!

LOL

Many many years ago that was the procedure here but those days are gone.  The time in which one can cancel an order varies but is a short time frame.

Until they changed their check policy I would order by check. It gave me time to ponder if I really wanted it or I got caught up in their hype. I would change the payment the next day or cancel. Now I try not to watch at night that’s when I go crazy. I wish they did give a RTR time frame.
