calling gals with very short nail beds

Anyone out there with very small nails? Mine look like children's nails. I keep them short because they would have to be really long to look like anything and somehow long nails bother me. When I see the pictures of the ladies who model nailpolish, their nails are huge. I got disgusted with nail polish because my nails are so unimpressive. Anyone else with short nail beds -- do you wear polish and if so what kinds of colors? Also I find that filing them in ovals is more flattering for me.
