@wagirl I'm so glad you finally got a cut you're happy with! The way our hair looks is so important to a lot of us.

Don't know what I would do if my stylist of nearly 30 years quit (she's 3 years younger than me, and swears she'll never retire...but who knows what the future will bring?). Last August I had her cut my chin-length layered bob in a much shorter, more layered style and I love it. Scared her to death when I asked for it, lol!

I did take a picture, and asked her to use it as a "guide", knowing my hair is much different from the woman in the picture as to thickness, texture, etc. She did such a good job, that we went even shorter the next time...and I liked it even better.

@qualitygal ---I often wonder if all those many, MANY stylists I tried really listened to me--seemed they nodded their heads yes,  but then went on a snipping spree and I'd walk out shorn like a sheep--was I speaking in tongues---again??? Not to diss the many great stylists-----so many are top notch ones out there--just not where I live--I guess.

OK---so washed and "did" my new pixie cut today looks pretty cute altho my cowlick is  being stubborn--the hair is a little short around it  so my scalp shows--still in the freak out period ---my hair that is  not me.

I have been going to my stylist for about 20 years.  Almost always I love the way she cuts my hair; however, the last 2 times she has cut my bangs way too short.  In my younger days, I probably would of cried but now I just say to myself that they'll grow back.  I'll have to nicely mention the next time, that I don't really like short bangs on myself
