SERIOUSLY?!? I think some people read way too much into what these hosts are saying. Wow is all I have to say.

What Shawn said wouldn't bother me in the least, because I for one know no host or any vendor is giving us anything for free, Lol!

I can't belive I am responding to this again-ha!  Nobody said she didn't say it.  The point is she didn't mean it.

@SnowKita I do hear what you are saying.  And while I may admit that she doesn't always mean it when she does it, my point goes back to the fact that she does it too often for my personal taste (every time she's on), and I personally feel that type of presentation style is unnecessarily unprofessional.

She doesn't need to make these types of claims in order to be a fun, hip, yet polished sales professional, right?

I am with you on this  I don't think people will purchase an item thnking Shawn is really the one who is giving you the free gift.  She did not mean it literally and I'm sure we really do know that.  I never gave it a second thought.

It was a joke. The hosts know that people are smart enough to know the hosts not actually the responsible party, even if they occasionally overestimate the audiences ability to get the joke.

I can understand what the OP means.  To me, it seems much more professional and "inviting" to use the word "we" instead of "I" when you are a part of a TEAM.  Believe me, I've been in leadership roles, and I make it a point to not always point to ME but include the TEAM effort.  I think that when a person takes the emphasis away from "Me, Me, Me", it makes that person more approachable and down-to-earth.  It's no fun being around people who always take the credit for things and never recognize others who contributed.  Sure, there are times when one needs to speak of "I" or "me."  But when you include others, the atmosphere of the team is more positive.  I am speaking from a management/leadership point of view.  Sometimes you just need to say, "WE."
