Totally agree with you @Kachina624. And it is not really about maybe considering $500 Blow Dryer to be "unpractical" or "way too much money to spend on hair".
These are legitimate reasons, and can be settled in our mind using this simple formula - Too Much Money/Unpractical = Don't Buy.
But getting so upset that such "expensive thing" is even offered for sale, for those who may be interested, that's funny!
Maybe OP @Jtdmum made a little point here - "You know you're getting old when..." Lol!
Because when we are young - we want everything! Regardless if it's not practical Especially very expensive things! Even if we can't afford them ...... we just want!
I know, as I get older, I want less and less.
Believe me- I can more than afford- Several if I chose to. I guess as I get older or possibly would say- "mature" I think more that It's a foolish choice- especially when I see people starving in this world. it's not what you have, It's who you are.

I don't know what the hair dryer has to do with getting old but I feel if it is something you can afford and makes your life easier why not.....It would be a waste for my thin short hair since any dryer dries it in about 10 minutes... Once when I went with my daughter to get her hair trimmed, it took sooooo long for the stylist to dry it. It must have take an hour to dry it.

Aubegirl- 20 years ago I would have jumped on this like a hungry dog on a meat wagon. My point--My priorities have changed as I get older, that's all.

If I had $500 to splurge on something, it wouldn't be a hair dryer. My hair is getting so thin it air dries in no time. I would spend it on one of those laser things that supposedly grows hair!

I know I am old: I am still using that little “ gun “ like Clairol Hair dryer. Even have another one at vacation house.
Not to tempt fate, I have a new dryer in the linen closet....just in case !
Must have saved a lot of $$$ over the years, lol !

i am another one with fine, thin hair that doesn't take long to dry. Several years ago (at least 5) I saw an Amika dryer on HSN. It was over $100, but somehow I was taken by what I saw and ordered it. I was positive that it wouldn't be anything special and that I'd return it. Who would spend that much on a hair dryer? I certainly couldn't justify it.
But, then I used it. i got it at the end of the year, so had over a month to decide whether to keep it or not. It didn't take a month to know that I couldn't part with it. It's such a great dryer. I still use it and still love it.
They Dyson looks great. But I can't justify the price, so I'll stay with what I have.

Must be the same company that sells a $400 fan and a $400 vaccume? They must also sell ocean front property in Arizona no doubt😜😜😜😜🤓
