You know you're getting old when...

You laugh when you see a $500 blow dryer.

Half a thousand dollars to dry my hair.  Hm..

@Jtdmum

Your hair must be very wet, so just think how quickly it'll  dry!!!

P.S.  You're not getting old -- just practical and smart and not foolish to spend $500 on a blow dryer!!!  Love my $15 Conair.

I have a Conair too, but I use the T3 that I bought 3 years ago. I thought I was crazy for spending over 100 dollars on a blow dryer, but 500 bucks is just nuts.

For that money, I want a machine that washes my dishes and puts them away and then dries my hair -  and maybe vaccuums the living room to boot!

  How many did they sell?

@Jtdmum.  People who own and have used it, love it.  So if you can afford it, why not?  We all buy things others might consider foolish.  At least its utilitarian unlike an expensive piece of jewelry.

Totally agree with you @Kachina624.  And it is not really about maybe considering $500 Blow Dryer to be "unpractical" or "way too much money to spend on hair".

These are legitimate reasons, and can be settled in our mind using this simple formula - Too Much Money/Unpractical = Don't Buy.

But getting so upset that such "expensive thing" is even offered for sale, for those who may be interested, that's funny!

Maybe OP @Jtdmum made a little point here - "You know you're getting old when..." Lol!

Because when we are young - we want everything! Regardless if it's not practical Especially very expensive things! Even if we can't afford them ...... we just want! Woman Happy

I know, as I get older, I want less and less. Woman Happy

@Kachina624  I'd much rather have an expensive piece of jewelry.  I could always pawn it later to pay my QVC bill!

I am so excited to get my new Dyson styler!  I ended up buying it from Nordstrom because the qvc one was sold out unfortunately.  I have so much trouble curling my hair so I can’t wait to try this new way of doing it.  Plus I have no debt and can afford it in my budget so it is a great purchase for me.
