The mushy peas were refundable but had to be returned, which meant a trip to the only place that would ship them for Amazon (a 40-mile round trip).

 

I live in the country but a lot closer than 20 miles to the nearest place I can return Amazon purchases.  When an Amazon rep tells me to take it somewhere for return shipping, I say no, I'm too far out.  They send UPS to pick it up.  No charge.

@monicakm - No such offer in my case.  I'm rural, too, but I was only given the option to take it to a particular UPS agent, if I wanted a refund.  I won't order anything like that from them again.  I think the issues occur with their third-party vendors.

I love Amazon.  Saves time finding things I want and or need.  As a Prime member I get free shipping.  And most stores cannot ever keep up with the stock supplies so why go from store looking for something that is not there.  And usually phones go unanswered.
