Not summer shorts,but it seems so many YT videos are now "shorts" .....2-3 minutes and not enough time to watch or jot down the products.

I enjoy the "used to be" full length vidoes to listen to while cooking or doing other things around the house.

Have you noticed this and which videos do you prefer?

Re: YOUTUBE VIEWERS....SHORTS?

I like both.  Most of the YT'ers doing shorts also do full length videos.

Re: YOUTUBE VIEWERS....SHORTS?

I'm not a fan.  I prefer Instagram for that type of thing.  I typically only put on YouTube when I'm putting on my makeup/doing my hair so I prefer longer videos.

I remember one of the people I watch on YouTube saying that YouTube is pressuring creators to put out shorts.  I'm sure they're trying to compete with Instagram and TikTok.

If I wanted "shorts" or reels, I'd go to Instagram or TikTok (not that I would).

Re: YOUTUBE VIEWERS....SHORTS?

The Youtubers I watch...their shorts are outtakes of past & current videos or teases of what coming. My guess...shorts are done to get viewers who aren't familiar with their channel to give a quick view & hopefully become a subscriber. I watch shorts & full length by my favorites...I'm subscribed with notification 🔔 turned on & always give them a thumbs up, it helps their channels be recommended.

@Shanus

Oh yes and I'm not particularly fond of it.  A few of my subscribed YTers have talked about it.  Seems as tho YT is pushing it.  I don't know why unless they (YT) just feel people's attention span isn't what it used to be Smiley Surprised

I don't mind the Shorts but I don't want full-length vids to become a thing of the past.  When I'm watching while cooking or doing my makeup/day-night skincare routines, I don't want to have to stop every 2 minutes to load up another video.

The shorts can be fun!

I admit, some of the YouTubers I watch regularly get fast-forwarded, because they drone on and on and on....if it happens too much I unsubscribe!
