mine of course is my beloved roxanne.  we had her for 13 wonderful years and just lost her in july.  i still cry and dh is inconsolable.  she is my forever dog.

we have 2 new puppies and love them dearly, but she was the gold standard.

@ladyroxanne  I am so sorry about the loss of your Roxanne.  We lost our sweet Quincy the end of June.  The pain is still raw and it is hard not to feel like it is betrayal to love another dog.  The first time we called each other mommy and daddy to our new pup, Willoughby, it was like speaking a foreign language.  Time heals, BUT we are talking ALOT of time.

Take heart and enjoy your new pups.  Time marches on.....

@ladyroxanne.  I'm so sorry you lost Roxanne. I'm sure the love was mutual. She'll always be in your heart, but her blessing is giving you the love of the new pups. ❤️

I never had a nickname either while growing up or as an adult.  When I started using the internet I created a nickname to use for accounts.  When QVC began their forums, I decided not to use the name I was using as a log-in on websites.  The simple fact for me is an ad for the cereal ran on TV at the time I was in the process of creating my QVC name, and that's the origin of Trix. When QVC had a program glitch last summer I had to add another x to the name.

@Trixx: I'm glad that a Viagra ad wasn't showing on the tv when you were choosing your screen name!  Woman LOL

Woman LOL Oh my. That's funny.  Good thing I was watching retro childrens cartoons on Cartoon Network at the time (Rocky and Bullwinkle).

Hi I'm a baseball Mom, too!  We're in KC and my boy's only 10 but baseball is his life.  RHP.  Good luck to your son!  Watching him play has brought me endless joy, I can say that.  It's up there with the best things in life.

@spindlegirl Thanks. I'm enjoying it, too.  I never thought this many posters would reply. I'm loving getting to know a little bit about each lady here.

Mine is ChouChou, pronounced shoo-SHOO, with the accent on the second syllable. My grandmother spoke French and all of the grandkids and pets were her ChouChous or ChouChoutes, if female. A little stray kitten appeared at our door and we named him ChouChou. He lived to be 18 years old. We loved him and still think of him a lot.

Thank you for showing the French pronunciation of Ch. I got into an argument with my brother over how to pronunce our  French last name. It also confuses people. Most people think it's a hard ch like in church. I told my brother it's a soft ch, sounding like shh. Chatau, chandelier etc.

Re: YOUR POST NAMES/NICKNAMES

I've been using some form of China Blue online since 1986. I took it from the 1984 movie Crimes of Passion, with Kathleen Turner. I never saw the movie, but I remember she looked so striking on the movie posters and thought it was a cool name. Apparently, a lot of other people did too, which is why I've used several different spellings since then when other people chose the original.
