Not to worry colliegirls....... it hasn't changed. SOME fragrances have changed.....but not Chanel. The other fragrance I like is Narcisco Rodriguez. It did change, but not enough so that you would really notice it much.

If she can't create it the way it used to be, I'm sorry to put it this way but Quit whining people. She has a contract with QVC she likely can't divulge the deep dark secret of why its different now. Get over it and try something new. Enjoy life and stop fretting about what was but can no longer be.

I remember her original formula, too (the real original since she keeps touting her current "signature" as the original).
One of my most pleasant discoveries happened about a year ago when I found two bottles of her unused lotion way in the back of our linen closet. I must've had them stashed for gifts. I still haven't had to open one of those bottles because I haven't used up the one on my dresser (I always purchased the body lotion rather than the perfume), and I use it like a sachet, anyway--it lasts forever. Needless to say, I was thrilled.
There's nothing like the original, IMO, and her current version is just another reformulated flop.

You are so right.
The scent is the same, but the staying power does not last for more than 1/2 hr.----then nothing.
I've been on these boards long enough to remember how QVC tried to convince those who complained about the change; it was "a change in body chemistry" that was the problem---NOT!

COCO was so different in 1984-until 1996 It was much more spicy. I still say it is a beautiful fragrance.
It and CHANEL 19 were both altered .
These are facts stated as well all over your internet

I know that many perfumistas bemoan the IFRA's recommended changes in formulations, but I wonder whether these perfumistas have ever taken the time to find out why certain changes came into being.
Many previous ingredients were known health and environmental hazards. And then there's an ingredient like musk. Do you know how musk used to be acquired? Let's just say that if you care about animals, you don't want to know.
It's time to move on. I mean, I love perfume as much as the next person, but it is not a necessity, despite what the hard-core folks might claim; it's a luxury. It's certainly should not be exempt from such regs.
And anyway, there are many, many, many lovely perfumes on the market today from which to chose.
