Wore a Huda Eye and Cheek Look Last Night

One of my first higher end e/s palettes and one I haven't used in quite awhile is Huda's New Nudes.  Did a really pretty burgundy/mauve eye look and used her new NYMPH blush/highlighter over Juvia's Place Light Bronzer.  So pretty!  I know it's not Fall yet even tho everyone on YT seems to think so lol.

N.Y.M.P.H. KISS Glow Blush

Bronzed Duo Bronzer

What look did you wear this weekend (shopping, out to eat, church)?  Think I may use the same palette tomorrow for Memorial Day picnic (aka under mom's veranda w/ ceiling fans!) only a lighter combo than last night for the eyes and a mid pink cheek with the Huda Kiss Glow as highlighter.

@monicakm , I love all your eyeshadow postings.  I would love for you to post some pics of your eyes done with the various shadows so we can see.  I bet others would too!  I get if you don't want to do your full face, but as a poster did the other day (whose name is escaping me...sorry) you can just do your eyes.  Think about it.  You find the most beautiful palettes

Thank you  so much!  I appreciate it Smiley Happy  I've been asked before to post some eyeshadow looks on MY eyes but I've had to decline and this is why... early last year before I started posting much here, I posted a photo of my eyes with the Too Faced Born This Way palette and false lashes.  The same photo got close to 400 likes on the reddit makeup addiction forum.  That's what gave me the courage to post here.  It was the opposite reaction here  and many didn't hold back with their snarky remarks.  I can only assume that many were never taught "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".  I would love to share here like I do on the reddit forum but I'm not willing to be hurt like that again.  I'm sorry Smiley Sad

  I don't wear any makeup anymore, but I enjoy reading your posts. ☺

I remember when wearing makeup was important to me, and trying new brands, products, and techniques was fun.

Yes, some people..... Smiley Surprised

I don't remember who and frankly don't want to remember who was unkind.  It's water under the bridge but I've been asked a couple other times about sharing my eye looks and this is the reason why I won't.

I don't participate in the makeup addiction forum anymore.  It's gotten downright bizarre over there!  Bizarre looks, guys in makeup, cross-dressers.  And now we're looking at Halloween and it will be even worse.   There are just a lot of looks there that I'm not comfortable looking at.  It wasn't like that a year and a half ago (or not as much).  I suggested they make a different sub-reddit but those that run the forum are on board with all the (not the norm) looks Smiley Surprised

@monicakm , some of the threads in Community Chat can get really bizarre, so might not want to spend much time there. I read, but don't post as often in that forum. I've noticed that people can get quite rude at times, so have to consider the source.

Does your mother try new makeup items like you do, or does she tend to stay with the same brands? Maybe you got your fondness for makeup and skincare from her.

@teganslaw

I definitely got my love of makeup from mom.  Skincare, I did not.  She's very basic with her skincare...Vit C and retin A and moisturizer.  I'd say in the last couple of years she's trying more skincare because of me.  I keep asking her WHY would she change anything when her complexion is as good as it is Smiley Surprised  Until James Welsh, Tatcha and The Ordinary, I've been getting by on my ancestor's good genes and moisturizer.  I enjoy my skincare products and routines Smiley Happy

I've never read the Community Chat.  I'm shocked the mods here let conversations get bizarre in light of some of the things they've put me in time out for (like sharing a YT video on how to contour and bronze) Smiley Surprised
