there are shampoos specifically for that, so just search for it on Amazon to see the options, they are called wig shampoos. Also this little clip:  "Baby shampoo is gentle enough to clean your wig if you do not have wig shampooavailable. Fill your sink with cold water and a small squirt of baby shampoo. Gently swish the combed out wig in the soapy water to remove the oil and dirt."

@DottieBlue  Your wig should have come w/washing instructions in its packaging's.

@DottieBlue  I have used beautimark products for my wigs. I don't know where I found them. I think sephora maybe.

You can use a mild dishwashing liquid.  That what we always used in the salon.

I use Revlon Texturizing Cleanser for synthetic hair.  A little goes a long way.  I bought mine at Sally's quite some time ago.  I don't know if they still carry it.

Re: Wig Shampoo?

[ Edited ]

When I was going through chemo and using a wig, I bought shampoo for wigs from the place I got the wig.

I really wouldn't trust anything else.
eta - the brand was Brandywine, available at Amazon
