Why offer auto delivery???

[ Edited ]

When a product is offered on auto delivery the product SHOULD be available when it is time to send out!

Don't offer it if it isn't going to be honored.

I've had Peter Thomas Roth Max Retinol Fusion PM eye cream on auto delivery and now I get an email that it is delayed and don't know when I will receive and if it can't be filled then it will be cancelled! It is on his website but I don't want to pay $15.00 more.

Messes my whole night routine up. I am totally out and now have to go find something else to use at night.

Pitiful.

Edited---since it is offered on his website you'd think they would be able to fill the auto-ships here with it and just be sold out on his website.

They don't always know ahead of time about availability or delays in getting ingredients, manufacturing, etc.

@crazy4bears  I think AD is a way to count their chickens before hatched. They plan to get your money whether or not the product or item will be ready to ship. It may be offered and THEN put the order into the vendor as to how many items they'll need. Risky business.

Same thing happened to me with:

Smithfield Fully Cooked sausages, Farmer Jon Popcorn and other orders.

When that happens why would they call it Auto Delivery?.?

Sorry for your frustration, in all seriousness. Im sure QVC would have avoided this if they could.

Re: Why offer auto delivery???

@crazy4bears I often want AD offered to me even though I know the reality of the world we live in now means that I might be disappointed if the vendor cannot supply the product.  I virtually always accept AD, knowing I can always cancel a shipment easily with QVC.

The way to avoid that would be to have all the AD's promised stored in a QVC warehouse but I see at least 2 problems with that.  Most important, I don't want old personal care products, and I know I have had some AD's with 9 month repeats.

Also, all that extra warehouse space is expensive to maintain -  isn't that way Walmart, Amazon, etc. have so many smaller merchants shipping from their own warehouses or garages?

@D Kay.  That's  right, you must adjust to the new "normal".  Things are not the same as they used to be.   Who kno2s if they'll ever be the same again?

Retail merchants are in business to sell product.   They try their darnest to do so as quickly and expediently as possible.  It's not like they're deliberately dragging their feet.

Oh this has happened to me with Jimmy the baker crumb cakes. I ordered auto ship in March and have not received any. They go backordered, then cancelled. Why offer it at all if you can't honor it. I finally cancelled it after waiting 7 months hoping to at least get one order. Never again

Right now I have two auto delivery products that are not being sent.   Greenheads lobster tails - maybe due to the recall of their cooked lobsters?  Don't know why that would affect the uncoooked tails, but who know what's going on over there.
Then there's my Nick Chavez thickening hair spray.   Plus QVC's NC products are nearly depleted, so I wonder if Nick's sister has decided to close the business.
