I think it would be way too rough to use on your face. I agree with FunLoving that it could cause broken capilaries. I use a Wonder Cloth on my face in the morning with water only. In the evening I just use a cleanser.

NickNack, hi! What is a Wonder Cloth? Does it softly exfoliate?

Irishrose, It's like a wash cloth that softly exfoliates. I only use it in the morning, but it works well removing make-up too. They have a website where you can read about it. I buy mine at Bed Bath & Beyond. If you do buy one don't ever use fabric softener with it. It doesn't work properly after that.

Thanks, NickNack! I love all things which gently exfoliate. Nice to know that it can be purchased locally. I did find the website.

When I bought a T3 dryer, a special microfiber cloth came with it. Supposedly towel dries your hair faster than a plain towel. And fabric softener is also a no-no with that. Thanks for the heads up. Smiley Happy

Re: Why not use salux cloth on face?

Someone posted once that they buff their skin pre-shower by using the salux cloth dry.

I agree with Colonel Meow. The cloth is "rough" enough to exfoliate your body, but your skin feels great when you're done!

Re: Why not use salux cloth on face?

I use it on my face in the shower. I wash with Olay face wash that I put on before I hop in the shower. Then a quick scrub when I get in and a rinse. I find it's no more rough than the Buf Puf. I don't really have a skin sensitivities though. If you think the regular Buf Puf is harsh then the Salux probably would be a bad idea.

Re: Why not use salux cloth on face?

Exfoliation is a personal preference, whether you pick physical or chemical.. or both, I suppose. I'm prone to broken capillaries, especially around the nose.

For my face & at this stage in life, chemical exfoliation is my choice in minimizing the signs of aging.

They're easy, quite uniform and provide gentle but thorough exfoliation. For body I obviously use physical.. and the Salux Cloth works nicely there.

If you have sensitive skin, a physical exfoliation is probably the best place to start. I would never use anything as harsh as the Salux though. I've used physical exfoliators (in many forms) in the past and there's nothing wrong with them at all. The idea is to not overdo either physical or chemical - Yet should be incorporated regularly as an important part of your skin care routine. I know you guys already know this stuff... but it might be helpful to someone reading who isn't already exfoliating regularly & should be.

I still do some physical exfoliation on occasion. It feels good, no doubt... yet my mainstay is chemical.

edited for stupid spelling. Grrrr.

I've used it on my face -- just gently. I've also ""dry brushed"" my face with it. It's such a great product!

I dry brush the back of my thighs and my back because they get dry and itchy. Great for that.

Try gently brushing before applying hand cream -- the feel so velvety soft, you wonder if you actually NEED to use the hand cream. :-)

Love, love my microfiber towels. Thanks to all the generous ladies who helped me transition to natural with my curly hair I first learned of these. They DO soak up water faster, and no fabric softener is right!

I learned from Chaz to always use a tee-shirt rather than a towel which roughs up the hair cuticle- and tees work great for hair too. But the microfiber towel is a 'must have' for unbeatable absorbancy in towel drying hair. {#emotions_dlg.wub}

Re: Why not use salux cloth on face?

just got a 3-pack of Salux cloths in the mail yesterday and was amazed how rough they are; am a little afraid to even use them on my arms/legs, let alone my face. The only thing that came with the cloths was an information sheet written in Chinese.
