Why do you love (and purchase) makeup?

I have several products that are holy grails, yet I always want to try new products. I love to try new stuff because I'm always drawn to experiencing new textures and new colors. I'm usually disappointed because they don't meet the standards of my holy grails, but it's so hard to silence my desire to try new things. I'm wondering why others love to purchase new makeup?
