I'm a bit confused as to the order of products. I now need a primer before I apply my foundation or tinted moisturizer but I absolutely need a high SPF sunscreen too (which my TM or foundation does not have). So what do you all do? Which should go on clean skin first?

You did not say if you are using a physical or chemical sunscreen, which may make difference. I don't use a primer but if I did, I think I would use my sunscreen under my primer. I only use physical sunscreens.

I suppose a chemical sunscreen would probably go under the primer as well since it actually works by absorbing into the skin and fighting free radicals below the skin surface. You wouldn't want a primer to interfere with that process, that is, if the primer actually prevents the sunscreen from absorbing. Primers tend to have alot of silicones in them so perhaps silicones could prevent or limit absorption into the skin (not sure, just thinking out loud here).

My SPF is only physical- titanium dioxide and zinc oxide only.

I only use zinc, too, and I'd use it before the primer if I used a primer.

I use Josie maron's moisturizer with sunscreen first then primer.

I was told that always SPF before primer.

Physical sunscreens form a barrier against the sun's rays, so my derm recommends applying last so you don't rub it off applying other products over it. Chemical sunscreens should be applied to bare skin, they need to be absorbed by skin to work.

This makes sense and I do use a Physical sunscreen. I think I would take a derm's opinion over a makeup SA.

How do you apply sunscreen over makeup without messing up your makeup, unless it is a powder sunscreen (not as effective)? My derm says sunscreen under makeup and that is how I've always done it.

Definitely don't trust an SA over what a derm tells you, lol!

Sorry, I should have been more specific, physical sunscreen last in terms of skincare products. Makeup would go over it, although he recommends not rubbing too much when applying liquids.
